A scientist, not a career politician
I hold a doctoral degree from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zürich, one of the world's leading universities. My career spans more than 25 years across academia and industry — including work for Queen's University here in Kingston, and for ESG Solutions, a Kingston microseismology company.
That background is the whole pitch. Municipal government is mostly an engineering and budgeting problem: roads, water, waste, permits, taxes, and whether the money residents hand over comes back as service. Those are questions with measurable answers. I have spent a career finding measurable answers.
I am not a proxy for any interest group. No party, no donor list, no machine — my name, my phone number, and whatever my neighbours choose to contribute.
Kingston is where we built our life
My family and I have made Kingston our home. The decisions council takes — what we pay, what gets fixed, whether there is work here for the next generation — land on my street the same way they land on yours. That is why I am running here, in this district, rather than anywhere else.
Why I'm running
Nobody is reading the budget
Rates rise on schedule and the reasons arrive after the vote. I intend to be the councillor who reads the line items and says so out loud.
We train talent and export it
I have worked inside Queen's and inside a Kingston technology company. I have watched good ideas leave for cities that made room for them.
Residents deserve a reachable councillor
